This charming restaurant modest is in size, but huge in flavor and value. The owner is a native Japanese, who recently left a successful restaurants in San Francisco to start up a new challenge in Hawaii. There is a variety of sushi and sashimi which are made up of only the highest quality hand chosen quality fish. The hot items offer a variety of things from yakitori chicken skewers to traditional holsum dishes like the Okinawan "goya champul (a dish of sauted bittermelon, pork, tofu, and eggs)". Both the sushi bars have daily specials featuring creative and hard to find sushi items and traditional dishes. There are a all types of sake, wine and beer to pair with anything. The dress is casual and the staff is friendly and polite. Overall, it's a great place to get high quality and very traditional Japanese cuisine, without paying a huge price for it.

What an experience, excellent food and compared to everything else we looked at in Waikiki, incredible value. Chiba-Ken’s atmosphere wasn’t exactly Bistro but it sure wasn’t the big open dinning halls of other restaurants in the area, it was perfectly sized to facilitate an environment of stylish comfort and friendly relaxation. The feeling of the place seems to be contagious; you can’t spend more than a few minutes in the place without making some friends. This is especially true if you sit at the sushi bar. The Chef even gave us some free sushi to taste. The owner and head chef actually came to our table ensuring that the meal was to hour liking. This is the perfect place to bring that special someone or business interest, if you decide to go by yourself try and sit at the sushi bar; you won’t feel alone at all. Excellent food main land Prices and an atmosphere that is equally comfortable and exiting what more could you really want.

Hula Grill is a great Oceanfront Restaurant with views of Diamond Head and the surf off Waikiki Beach. They serve both Breakfast and Dinner and the food is always served with a smile. Flavors and presentations are some of the best I've seen in Waikiki. They also offer Happy Hour everyday from 4 - 6pm. You've got to give this restaurant a try, you'll be glad you did!

One of the top restaurants in Honolulu. Chef DK Kodama has been a part of the Hawaiian Island Chefs oraganization for years. Sansei means 3rd generation in Japanese. His concept is a Pacific Rim cuisine with an emphasis on fresh island products. A full sushi bar with new wave sushi rolls and a complete kitchen featuring a Roasted Duck Breast with a Foie Gras demi and a Rib eye steak with a garlic demi has kept many local customers along with myself coming back for over 10 years! A must try when on Oahu!

If your looking for a steakhouse in a great setting, be sure to check out the new beachhouse restaurant at the moana surfrider. The ambieice here is outstanding, the quality of meat is superb and seafood, some of the freshest I have ever tasted. Be sure to check the Wagyu steaks, you will be in 7th heaven. The service and attentive staff made my dining venture and experience I will be craving for again and again. Tremendous new addition to this iconic hotel. Well done
