1. Beech Fork State Park

BARBOURSVILLE.   Covering some 3000 acres in West Virginia's southwestern corner, Beech Fork opened in the winter of 1979, providing a peaceful, woodsy setting for bird-watching, hunting, hiking, and camping. Primitive and modern campsites are available, as are rental cabins, restroom facilities, and a staffed visitors center. Families will find plenty to fill the day, including tennis, volleyball, and a 50-meter swimming pool.
