MILTON. Since the 1890s, Blenko Glass Company has been creating exquisite glasswork that's captivated collectors and casual admirers the world over. Founded by William J. Blenko, the company met with countless troubles until 1921, when Blenko opened a factory in the western corner of West Virginia. His final "shot" at creating a blown-glass industry in the United States was a winning one, and Blenko Glass has been a smashing success ever since. The factory's visitor center offers historical exhibits and observation areas that allow guests to catch different stages of the glass-making process.
