I used to work, and frequent Rebels. It is a really great place to get away. All of the regulars are extremely funny/ good people with opinions on everything. For $4 dollars a pitcher you can sit back and listen to crazy conversations, play darts, gamble a bit and watch whatever game you wish until the early morn. The reviews tell you that it is upscale, which the decor does make you feel. In essence, though, rebels is just a good place to hang out with a few friends, meet a few odd folks and have a great night. I live in Austin Texas with a great night life, but I just can't find a place that feels quite so perfect as Rebels anywhere I go.

It may sound strange but a Colonial-style pub venue with views of a bowling alley (accomplished by taking a booth and pulling back a curtain) was wonderful. Serving wenches with chunks of roast beef, big glasses of bourbon and the booming of pins being bowled over, all combined for delight. Oh yes; the food isn't bad either. Another thing: the wine list is excellent -- and was cheap.
