This place served me poor food twice... In fact I had accident in the car on the way home. I thought the Shogun's in Barboursville was bad because ravenous dogs refused to eat food from there, but Hibachi takes the cake. A very poor cake at that. I will also go to Taste of Asia. Thank you, Guest, for the recommendation. I saw the name Taste of Asia Hibachi and thought it was the same place. Glad to know I'm wrong.

I ate there a few days ago and was not impressed. I thought i would take a chance based off the good user reviews from this site. I wished I had based my decision on the bad reviews. The atmosphere was poor and there was some food on the floor that looked like it had been there for a few weeks. My beef and broccoli lunch looked great but smelled funny and It was not very tasty. The new Taste of Asia located a block away, is very clean and the food was extremely good at a very fair price. I would not recommend Hibatchis.

I called to place an order for pickup at 11:10. I was told that the woman who handles orders was not there yet. Why is only one person handling orders?
Also, I asked for lo mein instead of rice on one order. The lo mein ended up being an extra charge, which I was not informed of, bringing the total for general tso's and lo mein to $15! On top of that, the lo mein was charred as if they switched on the Fires of Hell setting by accident on the stove. I ended up giving it to a person on the street, who could not figure out what to do with it.

I ate here the other day and was very unhappy.
The food was not as good as I had heard. I also spilled my soup and the waitress seemed extremely upset that she had to clean it up. The rest of the evening she only came to my table one time to bring me the bill.
I WILL NEVER eat there again because of the food but mainly because of the service.

I went on Thursday and got mean looks from a host because my wonton soup came on a platter that caused the bowl to flip over. I had soup all over myself, which ruint my pants. I don't know why the host got tored up, because it was not my fault.

We go here about every other Friday evening. We love the food. Have never had a bad experience. When family comes in from California, it is the first place they want to go. We LOVE the ginger sauce. The waitress Tennille is great. Keep up the good work. See you soon!

We love this restaurant! We drive an hour and a half just to eat dinner here. The food is always hot and fresh and cooked to order. Their steak and shrimp are wonderful. The chef's always try to make it fun and entertaining. If we lived closer, we would make this our weekly Friday night dinner.

Well I was reading some of the reviews and personally I do not think to ever go to a Japenese Steak house for a chinese dinner. I think that may be why the food was poor. However, I love the place. The sushi is fantastic and I high reccomend the shark steak. I go to Ohio Univ. and live across the river in Ohio from Huntington and the one thing im stoked about coming home is going to Hibachis. The food is fantastic.

I decided to eat there again. I have been avoiding it, to make sure it was not my taste buds getting used to the food.
I was wrong in my last post about consistency, they are consistantly bad.
The rice was the only thing worth eating.
It was not dry this time and full of partically cook pork and giant chunks of egg.
The wonton tasted a little better but not like it should.
I had the orange chicken. This WAS my favorite. It tased more like orange peel chicken.
Sour. :(
I will post again when I eat there again. My be another 2-4 weeeks before I can stomach it.

My first time eating at Hibatchis. I was not impressed. My food was not very hot. I had the General Tsos. It tasted more like a buffet style chinese chicken.
The eggroll looked great but was doughy on the inside. The fried rice was excellent.
I was a little annoyed by the television. It was turned up way too loud. I asked if they could turn it down. My waitress did, but a few minutes later it got turned up by some other waitress trying to please some other customer who wanted to hear it. You can't please everyone-- so I overlooked this. I just wish the food had been as good as what I have heard. I wish I had read reviews before I wasted my money and lunch hour.
I may try it one more time. I doubt it.
I will give 2 stars since the rice was extremely good.

I guess a lot of Huntington and surrounding area residents have heard mention of this place on the radio recently! Well, I went for Chinese lunch the same day I heard about it and wasn't too pleased. I ended up getting WV-style seasoning on my stuff my mistake (never had so much garlic taste in my life) and the beef was undercooked. I had to wash a few pieces down with some flat soda pop because they didn't taste good. I ordered my food hot, but the only bite it had to it was the garlic taste, whatever that was... hopefully they don't actually make a point of using a lot of garlic in Chinese food. I have to agree with mable and bat!!! The won ton soup was mediocre (that is being nice) and the atmsosphere felt almost like McDonald's because the workers would yell around. I don't know what is going on... people tell me the place was great 4 years or so ago, but now is not too nice.

Atmosphere has deteriorated since 2001. Generic placemats are used now. Loud bigscreen TV during lunch. Wonton spoons are often replaced with regular spoons. Decaf Lipton tea sometimes served in place of traditional Chinese tea during lunch. Smaller portions of meat during lunch.

We make the long drive to Hibachi's when we really get a craving for the Orange Chicken. It is out of this world! We haven't found anywhere comparable in Lexington! We always enjoy the chefs humor, this is a MUST for larger groups of friends!
