HYANNIS.
Rustic, hearty foods have an unmistakable allure at this pleasant restaurant, which occupies a former bakery. Homemade pastas distinguish the menu and come dressed with fragrant sauces studded with porcini mushrooms, ground veal, capers, and fresh herbs. Veal scallopini and chicken are prominent, and shrimp, calamari, and clams give credence to the ocean's proximity. Brick-oven pizzas prove Fazio's talents with breads, and the open kitchen lets the sight of good food being prepared mingle with scents and sounds.

What a disgrace
I have been to Fazio's in the past and the food was very good, so we went back. Living in Cape Cod all year round, we love to dine at the best restaurants. However, our experience turned out quite differently. We ordered our entree and when we received this, the meat portion was for a child, if even that. As we always dine in fine establishments this was an insult and the entree was too expensive for what was served. The owner explained why the portion was this size, however, he was very rude and didn't care about his clientele as he said some people like this restaurant and some do not and his restaurant is not for everybody. This probably happens often because I recalled the last time that I was in this restaurant, he had a major argument with another customer. Therefore, I would never go back to Fazio's because there are so many more restaurants to dine in Cape Cod with great owners who respect their customers. It is truly a shame because the food is good.

The home-made pasta and breads are delicious; the chicken picata is to die for. The only drawback to this terrific establishment is the floor-to-ceiling plate-glass windows in the front, which undermine the warm, homey ambiance. The food is amazing, the service is great--I really can't say enough. Try it!!!
