6. Original Gourmet Brunch

I came out to Hyannis with my wife. She was running the marathon. I was looking forward to wandering around the town. I chose to eat at the Original Gourmet Brunch because it was one of the few restaurants open. To begin, the place was packed. As people began packing into the small lobby to wait for a table, the old man that owns the place became increasingly irritated with the amount of time the front door was held open…After about 15 minutes of waiting, I got a small table…The coffee was very good…The omelet was not good. It was made in an omelet maker on a timer, so the egg had this uniform rubbery texture. The onion was undercooked and very bitter. The green pepper was chopped up whole. There was still seeds and a stem in the omelet. As for the chedder, well...there wasn't any. Given how busy my waitress was, I didn't bother her…A little pricy. There was no one at the counter when I went to pay…All together, the food was poor, the service was poor. My waitress was nice, but I can't recommend.

We travel to the Cape 3 or 4 times a year to visit our Children and we have Breakfast at the Gourmet Brunch every morning we are in town!
