INTERIOR IBIZA. More than a sterile museum, this last remaining Moorish village dates from the 1000s and exemplifies the life and culture of the Moors on the island. The basically untouched village is comprised of thatch-roofed homes and public buildings. Using rope ladders, farmers climbed into the stone towers and then pulled the ropes in behind them. They remain today as a symbol of the island's rich history and varied cultural tapestry. (© 10Best) More Details for Balāfi
