2. Església de Sant Miquel

This is reported to be the oldest church on the island. The historic religious structure dates from the 14th century and features a host of additions throughout the development of religious life on the island, especially through the restored paintings. It was built in the style of a small fortress and, because of its interior location on the island, it was safer from pirates and thieves. Folk dancing takes place each Thursday evening in the churchyard, and talks are given in six languages.   (© 10Best)
