You know that you've come to the right place when you see an eye-catching herd of cattle at the front entrance. Many locals have deemed this restaurant the best place in the city to get a thick, juicy steak. Its rustic decor and friendly atmosphere serve the cause admirably. Many hearty steak dinners can be found on the menu, but swordfish and lobster tails are just as satisfying.   (© 10Best)

Drove 75 miles to eat at Bynum's. Made reservations for 7pm, arrived on time and was seated promptly. Not very crowded for a Saturday night, maybe half full. Sat there for over 25 minutes while waitresses whisked by without saying a word. I finally stopped one and asked if I could get a waitress or a manager. The waitress came over and finally took our order, brought soft drinks in styrofoam cups, said glass mugs were all dirty. Delivered my Budweiser correctly the first time, the second time she brings Coors Light and argues with me that this is the brand of beer I had been drinking, even after I show her my empty Bud bottle. Steaks were overcooked and dry. Fillet was horrible, assured us that it wouldn't be butterflied but when it arrived it was. She said that the cook said it would be better this way even though it was ordered the other way. Horrible service, The Ponderosa has better steaks. I'm only giving it one star because there is no zero stars listed.

My wife and I went to Bynums with another couple and had a great dinner. I had the angus new york strip and it came out cooked perfectly and was probably the best steak I have ever eaten. My wife had the small filet and you could practically cut it with a fork it was so tender. Our friends shared a prime rib, and it looked fabulous. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu-especially the wine list. We aren't huge wine drinkers, but she recommended several wines that would nicely accompany our meals and we tried a few of them and they were very good. We had a wonderful experience there and would highly recommend Bynum's to anyone out there who wants to get a nice steak dinner.
