Nothing can create a more emotional response than the events of war and battle. Culloden Battlefield has been the site of many such battles. This stark moor stage was the setting of Prince Charles Edward Stuart's demise by his cousin, the Duke of Cumberland, as part of the last battle fought on British soil. A visitor center houses ancient weapons and other memorabilia, including an historic recap of events. A shop, visitor centre and restaurant are also on site.   (© 10Best)
