Inverness Castle, a babe by Scottish standards, was built in 1834 through 1846. The castle overlooks the River Ness. Although the castle is not open to the public, just viewing its grandeur, you can't help but feel a deep sense of history. A small exhibition that is open to the public is housed in the drum tower.
