7. Old Capitol Museum

This Greek Revival structure is a National Historic Landmark and a former state capitol. Now a state historical museum, it houses a collection of artifacts, documents, weaponry, and memorabilia that document Mississippi's history from its earliest days to the present day, including the Civil War and Reconstruction, the Cotton Culture, and the Civil Rights Movement. Folk art, crafts, and books about Mississippi by state residents are sold in the gift shop.   (© 10Best)
