4. Grand Targhee Resort

This resort offers maximum opportunities for fun! In the winter, it is a great place for skiing, whereas summer has its own activities, including horseback riding. There are three different hotel accommodations in the resort area, ranging from motel rooms that sleep up to four to condominiums with two or three bedrooms. Babysitting services are available if your kids aren't old enough to hit the slopes with you. This is a great place to visit and to stay, but keep in mind that it is 40 miles out from Jackson Hole and that in the winter a lot of snow can easily block the Teton Pass, making it very difficult to get there.   (© 10Best)

In the summer of 1999, my family and I stayed at the resort. It is a lovely resort. However, it is so far out of the way that to visit the surrounding parks is a major hassle. If all you want to do is stay in the same area, then this place is for you. Again it is a beautiful resort, and the staff is exceptional. sr
