10. Yellowstone National Park

No trip to Jackson would be complete without a trip to Yellowstone National Park. The world's first national park continues to be a popular destination, and you'll be amazed at all the wildlife (bison, bighorn sheep, elk, wolves, bears, eagles) you spot just driving through on the main roads. To get to Yellowstone from Jackson, drive north on 89, going through Grand Teton National Park. It should take about 90 minutes to reach Yellowstone's South Entrance, and another 45 minutes or so to reach Old Faithful. And by all means, stop at some of the "scenic overlooks" – the views are awesome!   (© 10Best)

South Entrance open Daily May-Oct, call for exact dates; North and Northeast Entrances open year-round. Campgrounds generally open late May-Sep.
