RIVERSIDE. The St. John's River discreetly flows behind this beautiful museum, offering a scenic backdrop and accenting the peaceful atmosphere. Three acres of formal gardens encompass this home that once belonged to Arthur and Ninah Cummer. In 1961, the establishment began to invite the public to view their scant, but beautiful 60-piece exhibit. Over the past 40 years, this collection has grown to a mesmerizing collection of over 5,000 works. In addition to the noted program at the education center, highlights include the Dennis C. Hayes Japanese woodblock print collection and the Eugene Louis Charvot's collection of 19th century paintings and prints. (© 10Best) As the largest fine arts museum in northeast Florida, this venue does an excellent job of bringing worldwide classical paintings and artifacts to its patrons.
