JAX BEACH. Though the bistro side of the business is no longer with us, A La Carte Bistro still manages to thrill taste buds between their catered events. Stop by their Lil' Gourmet Shop – yes, the cute yellow cottage – to pick up your favorite gourmet bite to-go. Their New England-style box lunches are, of course, big hits thanks to ditties like lobster rolls, fried Ipswich clam rolls, chowder or even a juicy jumbo hot dog. Plan ahead, though, as their to-go lunches are available only on Mondays and Tuesdays – but, oh, what a start to the week!

RIVERSIDE. This cozy café boasts one of the most unique vegetarian menus around. Standout options include pitas, black bean burritos, carrot dogs, and veggie pizzas, and the homemade soups and pastries are delightful. A full range of coffee drinks is also served. What's more, there's a wonderful, on-site gallery featuring many local artists and events throughout the year.

SAN MARCO. Hearty appetites need look no further, for this is the home of the "10-inch challenge" pancake. They've mastered traditional fare such as hash browns and ham, but make sure you try the turkey sausage or the croissant French toast that has a hint of pumpkin. The corned beef hash is also quite good. Casual attire. Reservations not accepted. Lunch offerings are just as tempting.

SOUTHSIDE. If you're looking for Jax's top pie, don't be surprised if a poll of locals points you in the direction of this always-busy Southsider, where the brick ovens cook the tasty topping like mushrooms, arugula, sun-dried tomatoes and roasted peppers just right. If pizza's not your thing, they also serve up a variety of solid Italian dishes, including hearty calzones and subs.

PONTE VEDRA. Out in Ponte Vedra, sometimes the ho-hum sandwich shops just won't do, and when those times arrive, folks there thank their lucky stars for a place like Urban Flats, a smart little dining spot that's dressed with black and white photos and plenty of modern (you might even describe them as "urban") elements like exposed ductwork and rafters, comfortable-yet-stylish booths and defined geometric surfaces. Their specialty, course, is on flatbread, and the lunch menu lists a number of tasty Flatwiches that you simply must taste to believe – the Fig and Prosciutto or Black and Blue (steak, red peppers, spinach, roma tomatoes and blue cheese) are worth multiple visits. At dinner, the more filling Meatball Flat may be in order – followed, of course, by an order of apple cobbler!
Looking for light and tasty dishes with a quick turn-around time? Or perhaps a power lunch to close the deal? Here, you’ll find the right setting for either! An assortment of decors from casual and sporty to sophisticated and businesslike. You may also find the option of ordering take-out food.
