2. Bear's Paw Bakery

Well-known for its fabulous pastries and breads, this small establishment constantly entices patrons to come early for the most sought-after items. That's no small feat, considering that everything is terrific. Cakes and muffins are moist, pies are packed with fruit, and croissants are so light and airy you'll imagine they're almost calorie-free. The breads are also wonderful; French baguettes go quickly, but other options are tender and fresh too. To temper the sweetness of the treats, the shop sells cups of aromatic coffee.
