HICKORY CORNERS. Operating under the auspices of Michigan State University, this outpost on Gull Lake boasts a bird sanctuary that's home to a unique population of birds of prey and more than 20 distinct species of ducks and geese. Great care has been taken to preserve the birds' different habitats, and guests can view an array of ecosystems, ranging from forested areas to lakes, streams, and wetlands. The Tudor-style Kellogg Manor House, which overlooks Gull Lake, is also open to guests the first Sunday of each month. In addition, MSU operates a dairy farm and an experimental forest at Kellogg Station. (© 10Best) More Details for W. K.
