4. Kalamazoo Mall

KALAMAZOO.   Kalamazoo's three-block, pedestrian-friendly mall was completed in the early 1960s in an attempt to keep the downtown area afloat in an era of suburban shopping complexes and strip malls. Kalamazoo Mall was such an overwhelming success that it inspired other similar-sized cities around the country to follow suit, including Charlottesville, VA. From spirited holiday celebrations to "block parties" like the Mixer on the Mall, this red-brick section of Burdick Street certainly makes Kalamazoo unique in the U.S.   (© 10Best)

I live in Kalamazoo and theres not much on this street. but you can find the best and most unusual things. Oggi is a really great store.
