KALAMAZOO. This area of Kalamazoo, which grew up around the eponymous creek that flows through the area, was first settled by city founder Titus Bronson. Now home to Kalamazoo Institute of the Arts, Kalamazoo Valley Museum, and the Arcadia Fairgrounds, the district provides a first glance of Kalamazoo for many out-of-towners (the city's Amtrak station is located here). These days, Arcadia's red-brick buildings are enjoying a new lease on life as merchants and restaurants rediscover the neighborhood's charm.
