1. Wonderful's Blues Club (AKA Funky Basement)

KALAMAZOO.   Billed as one of the hottest blues joints between Detroit and Chicago, Funky Basement has featured a dizzying array of talent over the years, including Big Jack Johnson, Jim "Fast Fingers" Dawkins, and Long John Hunter. Though, aesthetically, the place is little more than a lovable dive, it's nevertheless worth checking out – if for no other reason than to sip a cold brew, check out whose mug adorns the brown paneled walls, and listen to truly great live blues.   (© 10Best)
