DOWNTOWN. This beautiful fountain is a prime example of why Kansas City has earned the nickname "City of Fountains." Indeed, the metropolitan area has the most fountains of any US city, and J.C. Nichols Fountain, with its 40-foot geyser, exemplifies the artistic tradition. Four horsemen surround the center of the fountain, each representing one of the world's great rivers. An excellent stop on a downtown walking tour. NB The fountains run only during temperate months. (© 10Best) More Details for J. C.
