18TH & VINE HISTORIC DISTRICT. This prestigious non-profit occupies a firehouse that was the former home of Kansas City's first African-American fire brigade. Artifacts and memorabilia from all aspects of community life – art, music, sports, religion, and more – are stored, interpreted, and displayed. The archives also puts together traveling exhibitions and hosts tours of the impressive collection.
