5. Kansas City Museum

Located in a turn-of-the-century mansion in the historic Northeast neighborhood, this museum features artifacts and audio-visual displays. Exhibits chronicle the development of the city's metropolitan area from the period of the Osage Indians to the completion of the Hannibal Bridge in 1869. Frontier life, the Civil War, and astronomy are among the featured exhibits. Fantastic hands-on displays include a house-building project for children.   (© 10Best)
