6. American Royal Livestock Show

The Buzz -- A Kansas City favorite for years, this event spotlights local and regional livestock exhibitions, drawing substantial crowds every year. Horse shows and a parade number among the attractions. In addition, associated highlights include rodeo competitions, bull riding events, country music concerts, a blues festival, and a barbecue contest. Junior division competitions are especially fun to see. The event benefits school-aged kids with educational programs and scholarships. Since 1899.
