Always my first stop when in town...first in line
I'm not so worried about staff "rudeness". They get me my food and answer my questions. I'm not there to be pampered. I'm there to eat the best BBQ I've ever had in my 38 years. I grew up in KC and have always been a Gates diehard. I still love Gates, but found myself missing that stop on my last visit. I couldn't make it there. I kept going back to LC's. My wife and I even missed our original flights back to NYC just so we could pick up some sliced meats, ribs and burnt-ends for the trip home. And, she didn't even mind...now that's pretty good food.

OMG!!!
My fiancé' is working in Kansas City on a yearlong project. Over the past six months, we had been searching for the "World Famous KC BBQ." Each time, we were disappointed. We finally found it at LC's. I read about the restaurant in the May 2009 issue of Delta's Sky Magazine. The Food Network Iron Chef Cat Cora suggested that this was one of the BEST BBQ joints in the country...I remind you that she only mentioned three. I thought she was nuts. I stand corrected. Cat if you’re reading this...you were right on with this one. This was the BEST BBQ I have had to date....please don't tell my Uncle Charles...LOL!!! I HIGHLY recommend the baked beans and the potato salad as sides. I had the short ends and they were soooo good.

THE BEST
I used to live in Kansas, but now reside in Montana. I travel all over the US and have tried all kinds of BBQ, sauces, etc. There is nothing better than LC's, period. I now have cases of sauce shipped from KC to Montana and share it with many, many people. They, as I do, think it's THE BEST. Do not miss out visiting LC's when in KC.

great ribs, pork and brisket. No problems with the food. I dont know who's responsible for the "waitstaff treating you like lost-kin." The waitstaff is by far the rudest you will ever encounter and i am always amazed that they think its good for business. Once you get passed the smart alek behind the counter and are not offended too much, you can enjoy a great bbq experience.

My husband and I traveled all over the country trying bbq. We own our own bbq restaurants in Ct., and LC's was truley the BEST. The ribs are "to die for". The atmosphere - exactly what a bbq joint should be.
