Filled my stomach and gas tank, too!
A landmark, a must for KC BBQ. Try to avoid the lunch hour (line moves fast, but likely to be out the door), and if only pseudo-hungry only get a kids version (still plenty big). Sandwiches pretty large and will serve enough fries for 3 people, seriously.

Great BBQ and it's a Gas Station
Turned off originally when I found out it was in a Gas Station I rethought my opinion when told by friends in Kansas City that it was the best in town and boy am I glad I did. The burnt ends I ordered were simply fantastic and my wife's brisket simply crumbled in your mouth. The Cow Town BBQ sauce was wonderful as well. I can certainly see why Men's Health magazine named it one of the 13 places to eat before you die. Don't be put off by it's location and don't be put off by the line you will most likely find, The BBQ is great and you will not be dissappointed.

Always my first choice for bbq. Brisket is by far the best out of the 200 some bbq joints i have tried nationwide. Everything from the fries to the pulled pork is top notch. Only Gates and LC's have superior ribs, but i never leave without ordering a whole bbq chicken to go. The chicken is like i have never had before and i think the best item on the menu.

A solid across-the-board barbeque experience. My daughter really loved the Z-man sandwich. The fries are billed as the best in Kansas City and actually lived up to their billing. Very helpful and understanding staff that helped make us first-timers feel right at home. Great sauce and good-sized portions made this place a real hit with the family. Don’t let the gas station stuff sidetrack you or you will miss out on some of Kansas City’s best barbeque.

Per other reviews, get there EARLY or LATE...it's a busy play. Pay no mind having something called "Oklahoma" referring to a KC area legacy, the BBQ is great. My favorite for pork ribs, for overall ribs, second to Jack Stacks Crown Prime Beef Ribs. We get the pork ribs on a regular basis. Fries, very salty but ohh so good. They also have some great sandwitches and the chicken is the best in town. The Gas Station BBQ is unmatched!

Don't be fooled by the "gas station" exterior. This place has some of the best BBQ anywhere.
