GLADSTONE.   In a city where everybody and his brother purport to have the "best barbecue around," Smokehouse stands out, thanks in large part to its mouthwatering burnt end platters and its hickory-smoked beef brisket served with fries, Texas toast, and cole slaw. If you want to go another route, consider a Polish sausage platter, rib plate, hickory-smoked chicken, or Smokehouse Special barbecue sandwich. Additional locations in the area.   (© 10Best)

Terrific!
Odd to start off with this, but absolutely the best beans I ever ate! Semi-sweet, bacon, yummm. I had a chance to visit 5 highly ranked places while in town and was also one of top 2. Real clean place, real nice staff.

I've been to both the Gladstone and Zona Rosa locations and love them both. The sausage and burnt ends are both wonderful. I won't say they are the best I've ever had (that award for burnt ends goes to Smokin' Guns in NKC until I make the drive down to Okla Joe's), but I've never had a bad plate from Smokehouse. If you're sneaking in during lunch, get the Crispy (or Super Crispy if you're really hungry): they've shredded the burnt ends and put it on a bun, always a good mean.

Went to the Gladstone location and was unimpressed. Not in the same league as some other local barbecue places. Very average. Decent sauce, but brisket was soured.
