6. Coconut Festival

The Buzz -- The humble coconut is venerated (and consumed) over the course of this weekend festival. Groves of coconut palms, remnants of the many plantations that once dotted the area known as the Royal Coconut Coast, provide plenty of the sweet fruit to satiate festival-goers. Cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts vendors, storytellers, and live music draw crowds, as does the coconut milk bar, which serves delicious non-alcoholic concoctions. Kids love the children's theater and coconut-themed games.
