2. Hanalei Gourmet

HANALEI.   Although this casual restaurant serves food all day, it's also known for its nightlife scene. The venue holds court in a former schoolhouse, and it almost seems like sacrilege to enjoy loud music in the space. Still, patrons kick back at the bar and rock to live music, which is played several nights a week. The repertoire varies, so you may encounter jazz, island folk, or even rock when you come. Hanalei Gourmet YUM! The fish and chips here rock! Especially with the sauce they serve with it. So good that we ate it at least 4 times while we were on the north shore. The local entertainment is good too. Mitsu you rock! Your friends, Robin & Steve

Hanalei Gourmet - grungy bar with great character - good wheat beer on tap - and terrific food. Prices are reasonable - good place to hang and enjoy the good food - anything with fish is super.
