KEY WEST.
Authentic Cuban food at excellent prices – what's not to like? The locals line up to feast at El Siboney. Cuban sandwiches, juicy roast pork and heaping portions of rice and beans are common meal selections. Try the black bean soup or the paella with fresh seafood and chicken.

Short on atmosphere and long on slow-roasted flavors of Cuba, this restaurant carries a loyal following in Key West. It shows off its Spanish roots in dishes such as ropa viejo (shredded beef) and roasted chicken. All main courses come with buttery bread, yellow rice, a cup of rich black beans, and tender plantains. It's the best value in town. (from Southern Living)

My mothers entire side of the family are conch's (not only a shell but also what natives born and raised are called) Say a 5 day vacation 5-6 meals are spent eating in or out from El Siboney. Ropa Veija and the pulled pork are the best on the island. I can't stop eating their cuban mix. (sandwich)Although not a big fan of it breaded the breaded palimia is the best around! Just don't forget the black beans and yellow rice and an extra order of sweet plantains. Wish they had fresh conch salad!
