The allure of the river is strong on the Star of Knoxville. From the decks of this ship, you can gaze out on the lush scenery while enjoying a Southern dinner buffet. The climate-controlled interior permits year-round dancing and relaxation. Special theme events include a murder mystery cruise and a river blues cruise. Other cruises available include cruises for lunch, sightseeing, and nighttime fun.

We booked a lunch time buffet and sightseeing excursion on the riverboat and were extremely disappointed with the whole trip. There was confusion before we got on the boat when the lavatory had no lock on the door and the sign said 'UNI SEX'. Unfortunately and elderly patron was using the facility and my husband was extremely embarrassed when he opened the door on her, which was not a good start to the trip. The interior of the boat looked very tired and None of us could imagine it as a fun party venue. The food was pre-cooked and kept warm over camping stoves. Unfortunately that meant that the food was cold by the time the buffet started, 40 minutes after boarding the vessel. The cruise was supposed to last an hour and a half but in reality it was approximately an hour as much time was spent stationary in the dock. The boat then traveled down the river with very little to look at other than the UT Football stadium. The actual sightseeing information started about 15 minutes before the boat returned to dock. The information was very limited and the narrator appeared very unsure of the information he was relaying. Other passengers that we spoke to were also disappointed with the whole trip. All in all, I would say that there is an enormous amount of room for improvement and would definitely not reccommend the trip.
