3. Khoon Yam Temple

CHINATOWN.   Commissioned in the late 1800's, this temple is always busy with Chinese worshippers. Near the Chan See Shu Yuen Temple, Khoon Yam Temple is a tribute to the Hokkien Chinese tradition. On religious feast days, elaborate paper effigies of clothes, money and material possessions are burnt to pass good fortune to ancestors in the spirit world.   (© 10Best)
