The Buzz -- Rich in tradition and ritual, the Chinese New Year (held in January or February) is a major celebration for this city. Spectators will see elaborate fireworks fill the sky and festive dragon / lion dance processions take to the streets. Family and friends share in the New Years custom of Hong Bao, in which family elders place small gifts in red packets for loved ones. Lasting a full two weeks, the centuries-old Chinese New Year celebration brings a touch of China to Kuala Lumpur.
