GOLDEN TRIANGLE.
Since relocating to one of KL's shopping malls this eatery has taken on a casual, slightly commercial feel. Despite the location change, Bon Ton continues to serve up an eclectic mix of Western and Asian fare featuring herbed rack of lamb with Lyonnaise potatoes and local Peranakan dishes such as the chicken and prawn laksa. Follow your main meal with a piece of mud cake and kick back to listen to hits from the 50s and 60s on Mon, Wed and Fri nights.

Hi, here is my review about Bon Ton restaurant. I really don't know why this restaurant is at the top of "best restaurant" list. My husband got fooled by this and took me there for my birthday dinner. The environment was great. Not my kind, because it has a chinese malay kampung house architecture and interior. Antique looking furniture, nevertheless, impressive.
But the food was horrendous. When the food came, I knew it was not freshly made. But they made us wait for sooooo long just to give us the impression that they were cooking it for us. It looked more like it had already been prepared earlier, they were just warming it up to give us. How I knew?? The food was not piping hot and of course the food didn't look fresh.
The menu? Kampung food basically. Malaccan baba nyonya stuff. If you're a foreigner, maybe you'd enjoy it, but if you're a local, don't bother because you can get the same quality of food in any local gerai or shops for a cheap price. Even that kind of simple food, they couldn't prepare it deliciously.
The only thing I enjoyed there was their desert. Sago with brown sugar syrup and coconut milk. A desert you can actually make below RM5.
The worst part, they made us wait for soooo long. The food didn't appear fresh to me. I cook, so I know. I wrote a letter to them sharing my dissapointment with them, but they never bothered to give me a reply.
Last but not least, you can only go there to enjoy the malay chinese kampung ambiance. It's nice. Extensive effort has been put to make the place look good. The food? save yourself from spending money on their nonsense delicacies and go to a malay gerai to enjoy the same kind of food. Service?? Lousy!
