9. The Library

DOWNTOWN.   The only thing this cozy, collegiate pub lacks is a campus within easy walking distance. Tan-stained wood paneling, a pressed-tin ceiling, and fully stocked bookshelves that rise high to the ceiling distinguish the place. Grab a seat at the attractive "L"-shaped bar, order up your favorite quaff, and take in the scholarly atmosphere. Or, if competitive fires are burning, pool tables and dartboards can be found just around the corner. And don't worry: If Mom or the wife calls, just leave word that you'll be at the Library, and you'll be in the clear.   (© 10Best)

Would be quite the walk to the universities, but they have awesome Long Islands there.

Fun place...and contrary to the description this bar is within walking distance of 2 universities, and 1 college.
