DOWNTOWN.   From specialty coffee beverages and teas to homemade soups and dessert goodies, this old-fashioned coffee shop is a pleasant place to start off your day. White plaster walls, original floor tiles, and a red, pressed-tin ceiling provide just the right backdrop for enjoying a mocha double espresso in one of the old wooden booths. Cozy Jules enjoys a convenient corner location beside Pearl Street Books. In fact, after you've found that rare title you've been hunting, head through the doorway that joins the two shops and treat yourself to a late-day snack.   (© 10Best)

The only reason I give this place any stars at all is because the vegetarian chili is so good. Service is poor, seating (while quaint) is dirty and uncomfortable, and there is little care given to sanitation. La Crosse is generally pretty tough in the CO. Health Dept. but this joint must get a pass. If you don't look "cool" you usually get poor service or flat-out rude treatment. I work nearby and a lot of professional skip Jules for the same reasons.

The place is great for socialization, or studying if you participate in academics. Just be careful about the customer service, I just had one girl who flat out was the rudest and meanest person I've ever encountered. We came in there and made it easy on her and she talked about us behind our backs to other customers only to get caught by someone in our group waiting. I'll still go there, but I will refuse to tip her any amount because of the poor appreciation for customer service.

Very quaint little coffee shop, there is a lot of unique old architectural details inside. When in downtown La Crosse stop in for a Jules experience.
