CLERMONT. Situated in a dramatic river gorge carved by glaciers thousands of years ago, this beautiful park quickly earns a special place in the hearts and memories of its visitors. Flanked by mountain peaks that rise more than 3000 feet, the Malbaie River winds its way through some of Eastern Canada's most remote country, offering some of the area's most spectacular outdoor activities. The park features numerous hiking trails and bike paths with varying degrees of difficulty, as well as primitive campsites. In the summer months (June-mid August), river cruises run up and down the Malbaie – make sure you make reservations well in advance (418-665-7527).
