STE-IRÉNÉE. Ah, the talented DeBlois, whose imaginative work has gained international renown. It's fair to say that you won't find many places back home quite like this farmhouse gallery, where it seems that the muses have taken up permanent residence. Joan displays her handiwork, including raku (Japanese pottery) and her unique "OZE" collection.

CAP-À-L'AIGLE. Pay attention while you're humming east on 138, or you'll miss this quaint little shop, which is well worth the stop. A veritable treasure trove of unique ideas, Ms. Bertrand's décorative pottery celebrates Charlevoix's natural beauty by depicting scenes and wildlife from the area – either painted or hand-engraved. While pottery is Ms. Bertrand's specialty, she is also a very capable painter whose watercolors have captured several area landmarks, like the windmill on the Île-aux-Coudres.
