LAFAYETTE.
Once located on Second Street, the historic Big Four Train Depot has long served as the city's main gateway to the world, a role it plays to this day by housing both the Amtrak and Greyhound stations. Now situated on Main Street, the depot (along with the scenic pedestrian bridge) is part of Riehle Plaza, the social heart and soul of the city. Indeed, most of Lafayette's biggest celebrations are held here, and it's a great place to take an afternoon stroll or enjoy a quick bite while watching the Wabash River roll past.

Riehle Plaza:Inside the depot is filthy! I have used the plaza on 4 or 5 occasions to get on the Amtrak, so I don't have to be in the depot long. I usually stand outside. Also, when I came home on Dec. 27th. the usual time for amtrak, the depot is locked!! If you have to lock it, please why don't you lock it after the train arrives. As an older citizen, getting down the steps with a suitcase is not easy. This is the first time it's been locked that time of nite.
