BATTLE GROUND. This historic site, located on close to 100 acres, commemorates one of the last great battles between Native American and U.S. Army forces – the Battle of Tippecanoe. Today, visitors can learn about the battle and its major players – William Henry Harrison, Tenskwatawa the Prophet, and even the great Tecumseh – at the interpretive center. An 85-foot marble monument now stands in front of the battlefield, which is surrounded by an iron fence erected in 1873. The park also features hiking trails, a gift shop, and a museum.
