LAFAYETTE.   This rustic place, located a few miles northeast of town, has been considered one of Lafayette's top banquet and special-events facilities since the 1950s. Available for retreats of all kinds, The Trails serves a variety of first-rate American dishes, from USDA steaks to charbroiled swordfish. Those not able to plan an event can still enjoy the top-notch Trails treatment, thanks to Friday night's Feast Unlimited, an impressive buffet that features entrees ranging from vegetable lasagna to fried clams and roast pork loin.
