4. Wabash Landing

WEST LAFAYETTE.   Billed as West Lafayette's "New Downtown," modern Wabash Landing was once little more than the underdeveloped, unappreciated levee area, located along the banks of the Wabash River. During the early '90s, city planners and architects completed a massive reclamation project, converting land once occupied by a Sears store into a modern, mixed-use development with public green spaces overlooking the river, stores and restaurants, a movie theater, and apartments.
