3. Impression 5 Science Center

DOWNTOWN.   Founded in the early 70s, this hands-on learning center challenges visitors to expand their minds and explore the physical and natural worlds. Indeed, at this 100-year-old warehouse, families from all around enjoy exploring life and science via exhibits like the Heartworks Center, which features an enormous walk-through heart, and the Slime Time! chemistry demonstration. The center hosts a variety of educational programs and demonstrations, including those that teach kids how to make chromatography butterflies, sand art tubes, egg-drop vehicles, and flying oddities. The Impression 5 bookstore carries a wide range of nature- and science-related texts and souvenirs.   (© 10Best)
