DOWNTOWN. Riverfront Park is usually a-buzz with activity in the spring and summer months, as visitors from far and wide congregate along the eastern and western banks of the Grand Rapids River to enjoy city-sponsored festivals, concerts and other free events. The River Trail follows the Grand Rapids and Red Cedar Rivers for eight miles, including passes by the downtown and Old Town areas. Noteworthy stops along the trail include the Brenke River Sculpture and Fish Ladder near Old Town, which helps spawning September salmon and steelhead as they try to make their way upstream.
