DOWNTOWN.   A must-do! Stratosphere Tower is promoted as the "tallest freestanding observation tower" in the US and the tallest building west of the Mississippi. It stands 1,149 feet high and offers both indoor and outdoor observation decks. Unrepentant daredevils can get a "white knuckle" fix by riding any of the four thrill rides it hosts, all located 100 stories above the ground. The tower also offers a lounge, restaurants, meeting rooms and panoramic views of the Strip and the valley.   (© 10Best)

This is a Vegas must. By the far the best view of the city. At least have a couple drinks in the lounge at the top.

Agreed- The view up there is staggering. If you can afford it, dine at the Top of the World restaurant (or just visit their lounge if you can't). The restaurant and the Voodoo Cafe & Lounge at the Rio are the best spots to truly appreciate the view of Vegas, especially at night. The nice thing about the TOTW restaurant is that its windows come into the floor at about a 30 degree angle so when you look out you can look straight down below your feet so it gives the illusion that you are "floating" above the strip. NOT for the truly agoraphobic! PS-There is a minimal charge for going to the top but there are usually discounts available if you ask.

How can you come to Vegas and NOT want to go up in the Strat? It's worth it for the view alone. But while you're up there, by all means, DO NOT MISS riding the Big Shot. It is one of the most intense thrill rides ever created. You'll regret it if you don't . Ratings: Tower - 8....... Big Shot 10+
