EAST LAS VEGAS. At Sergio's, faux columns, silk greenery, and wall murals are meant to evoke ancient Rome; while the decor isn't fully authentic, patrons agree that the food certainly is. The amiable waitstaff is happy to start you off with salmon carpaccio or fried calamari with tomato sauce. Pasta entrées, served with your choice of minestrone soup or house salad, include penne alla vodka and fettuccine with porcini mushrooms. Baked pastas, chicken, beef, veal, and fish dishes are also served. Conclude your dining experience with a shot or two of Sergio's famed espresso.

WEST OF THE STRIP. Featuring one of the finest dining rooms in Vegas, Antonio's kitchen turns out fabulous veal specialties and an onion soup to die for. Other favorites include lobster and chicken parmigiana, osso buco, and spaghetti with crab. Make sure to choose something from the wine list – the priciest selection will set you back $200,000! Enjoy the festivities and super-friendly waitstaff as you admire the marble accents and glass-domed ceiling.

3. Delmonico Steakhouse

THE STRIP. One of celebrity-chef Emeril Lagasse's brainchildren, this Big Easy-style steakhouse has received more than its fair share of positive publicity. Vaulted ceilings, a working petit grand piano, and French doors carry the New Orleans theme to the hilt. Meanwhile, a wine list that very nearly dwarfs the Las Vegas telephone directory lets diners know that "high living" is not taken lightly. House specialties are too many to list, but stalwarts include a fabulous NY strip, a bone-in rib-eye, and a brilliant porterhouse. The professional waitstaff, groomed to be both attentive and courteous, help to make this one truly unforgettable dining experience.

THE STRIP. Extravagant selections of meat, fowl, and fish – with plenty of sauces and sides to accompany them – place Craftsteak a cut above the rest. An award-winning chef prepares Kobe beef, lamb, duck, and swordfish to be savored alongside roasted Jerusalem artichokes, braised white asparagus, goat cheese ravioli, and polenta. An extensive wine selection and friendly, attentive waitstaff ensure each meal at this acclaimed restaurant is remembered fondly.

WEST LAS VEGAS. A favorite with romantics, this unique restaurant impresses with its intimately arranged tables, original local artwork, and fabulous New American menu. Owners Michael and Wendy Jordan, groomed in New Orleans, serve regional specialties like roasted rack of lamb with rosemary bordelaise sauce, a Maytag blue cheese-glazed New York strip, and crispy skin striped bass with Creole meuniere sauce. An impressive, internationally flavored wine list enhances the experience.

6. Geisha Steakhouse

EAST LAS VEGAS. An east side standard for more than 20 years now, Geisha offers diners a traditional Japanese steakhouse setting, complete with the quintessential hibachi tables, flashy chefs, and large portions. Families especially enjoy watching the chefs do their thing – creating fabulous sesame chicken, steak, scallop, shrimp, and lobster teppan-yakis. Best of all, their prices are much more reasonable than some of Vegas's other Japanese steakhouses.

7. The Buffet at Bellagio

Lots of fresh vegetables and piping hot breads are available too. Prepare to fight the crowds at this popular eatery.

WEST OF THE STRIP. While seafood in the middle of the desert might seem an anomaly, this buffet proves it can be done, and done right – just ask visitors, who rave about succulent crab claws and perfectly prepared fish dishes. Lobster tail, seafood salad, catfish, and a lavish assortment of shrimp are always available. Long lines and a busy dining room are indicative of the quality to be found on the buffet.

9. Spice Market Buffet

THE STRIP. Helping to cement Las Vegas's proud claim as the buffet capital of the world, this popular restaurant vaunts a stunning spread of traditional foods and international delicacies. Spice Market has received raves from publications like the "New York Post" and is a favorite of families and tourists, thanks to a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. Saturday and Sunday's "unlimited" champagne brunch is one of Sin City's most talked-about affairs. Roast turkey, crab legs, eggs Benedict, pastries – they all await!

10. The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas

THE STRIP. Like the Wynn's other dining establishments, The Buffet offers superior cuisine and atmosphere. Seventeen chef stations allow for an abundance of fine cuisine: Sushi, glazed salmon, steamed mussels, king crab legs, rack of lamb, grilled vegetables, and pesto mashed potatoes are just a few of the choices. American, Mexican, Southern, and Italian dishes are all available, including barbecue and pizza. And happily, there's no rock-hard pound cake on the dessert bar; instead, you can devour tiramisu, madeleines, and chocolate mousse.
