Established in 1888, much of this important collection dates back to 1820. The 20th century is also well represented and, with the exception of London, it is considered the best of its kind in the country. Additional exhibits feature works of French post-impressionism, the Victorian period, and contemporary art. Also on hand is the Craft Shop and Design Gallery, which features applied art, ceramics, jewelry, and limited edition works. There is a good Tiled Cafe on-site as well.
