About Lexington Nightlife
Home to both a thriving business climate and a university community, Lexington enjoys a special brand of nightlife. While it does take advantage of demographics by offering a variety of venues favored by the undergrad population especially places like Two Keys Tavern, Pazzo's Pizza Pub, and Charlie Brown's the city is more than just a college town, replete with that attendant culture and youthfulness. Restaurant bars also prove popular, and residents can often be found enjoying drinks before or after dinner, making the transition from mealtime to nightlife an effortless one. Establishments like Horse & Barrel (convenient to deSha's) and Oscar's deliver upscale ambience while promising well-crafted menus, and Cheapside Bar & Grill is an all-around good bet with a fantastic patio to boot. Pubs are also a Lexington mainstay, and Lynagh's and McCarthy's are two of the best-known and most frequented. No matter what you're seeking, though, you're likely to discover it in Kentucky's second-largest city. Country music, dancing, live bands? Done. Karaoke, trivia, sports on the telly? Got 'em. Hotel bars, comedy clubs, relaxed hangouts? Of course they're here, like all the rest just waiting and ready for you to make them your own. -- Kelly Sigmon, Senior Editor
